Lyocell is a fabric produced from gum trees. Hand dyed with eucalyptus and iron sourced locally. This piece is a low waste garment, being cut and manipulated from a square of fabric. Stylishly simple makes it a buy for life piece.
Hand dyed, cut and sewn by Maria at the Nelson Molloy Indooroopilly studio. We scavenge the eucalyptus leaves from out the back of our Nelson Molloy studio in Indooroopilly. We use soy milk as a fixative and then leave the fabric to dry. Next we bundle up the eucalyptus leaves and boil the fabric with extra ingredients. Then we let it cool and dry. We then rinse and dry again. The process in total takes roughly 12 hours and this is all before even producing the garment.
Oversized + V neck. PLEASE NOTE: Due to being individually dyed + made, each top will vary from piece to piece.
Soft, lightweight fabric with a relaxed fit for comfort makes this a perfect throw over for the beach. It also means it is perfect for layering; try it over our Picnic Shorts or Frolic Dress or your favourite frayed jeans or harem pants.
