Chasing Zero is a collaborative fashion project exploring the possibilities of Zero Waste This enables the Nelson Molloy studio to become circular and the offcuts, paper and a few family old clothes become new garments . Dyeing, bleaching, patching and slow stitching techniques are used.
The Zero Waste concept can feel complicated to achieve and requires thought, planning ,and even formulas to make happen in the kitchen. To diminish waste in clothing design and manufacture it requires just as much planning and formulaic thinking.
There is also a lot of creativity and questioning involved.
I intend to focus on these questions and creative solutions as a part of my podcast which I will launch in the last week of May.
